Hi I recently bought the garmin 405 and am quite disapointed because I sweat while I run and it causes the watch to go haywire, probably touches the two electrodes causing the watch to malfunction. Here in South Africa we are marathon junkies and on a hilly course (42.2km) the Garmin was out by 270metres

How does the 405 adjust or approximate the pace when it loses the satellite?

Does it use the last known pace and apply it while it is out of touch with the satellite? Or does it calculate your pace on a reduced total distance?

BTW -
I think the prisons give out the 405, but they use a special ankle version.
